Advanced Throwing Course
We focus on refining techniques, such as shaping cylinders and creating pieces of at least 20 cm, as well as developing new skills like working with larger pieces, joining two parts together, and throwing pots with lids. Experimenting with different types of clay and glazes will also be covered. We will explore the art of glaze-making, guiding you through the process of creating a unique glaze and understanding the chemical reactions involved. Other decorative techniques, such as using transfers and slip decoration, will also be introduced.
As the course progresses, you’ll have more room to explore your personal creative ideas. Whether you’re creating functional pieces or sculptural artworks, you’ll have the opportunity to bring your vision to life.
By the end of the course, you will have created five (or six in the 10-week course) pieces that showcase your new skills and creativity. Join us and immerse yourself in the world of ceramics, where each creation tells a unique story!
Duration: 8 or 10 weeks
Price:
- 8 weeks: € 380,- including clay, bisque firing, and glaze firing (6 pieces per person)
- 10 weeks: €467,50 includes clay, bisque firing, and glaze firing (Additional pieces can be fired for €5 each)
Requirements: Familiarity with basic skills and the ability to centre at least 750 grams of clay.
